What is the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant? While your accountant is likely to focus on things like profit and bottom line with a view to sorting your financials at the end of the financial year, they often don’t take an in-depth look at what’s going on inside your business. A bookkeeper tends to be very detail-oriented and gets involved in the day-to-day running and financials of an operation. In that sense, we can add value to your business all year round by providing an external set of eyes to provide a detailed, impartial overview of where you’re at. Do bookkeepers do payroll? Yes, absolutely. KR Accounts will seamlessly manage your payroll to ensure your staff are always paid correctly and on time. How much should I pay a bookkeeper? Every client is different, with the appropriate payment based on the exact needs of the individual business. At KR Accounts, we normally charge by the hour, but can organise a monthly fee arrangement depending on the scope of work involved. At the beginning of the process, we’ll take the time to get to know your business, and discuss your ongoing needs before giving you an accurate indication of the realistic costs associated with the services provided. Can a bookkeeper do tax returns? The short answer is no. That responsibility lies with your accountant. However, what KR Accounts does really well is ensuring your accountant receives all the necessary and correct information at the end of financial year. This helps enable a smooth, speedy and efficient tax return process.

Our Process

At KR Accounts, our relationships with new clients tend to begin with a simple introductory phone call. We’ll have a high-level chat about your business and requirements, before organising a more in-depth face-to-face meeting. We’re passionate about taking all the time needed to deeply get to know you, your business, and your needs, goals and ambitions. We’ll use this knowledge to determine how we can best work together to deliver precisely the kind of support you need.

Once our working relationship officially commences, we’ll ask you for all the relevant financial files and documents needed to enable us to properly do our job. But what if these files don’t currently exist? It’s a question that gets asked a lot! And our response is simply that we’ll create them for you. What’s more, we’ll ensure we structure these files in a user-friendly way that will best serve your business and its team members over the long-term.

By meticulously reviewing all financial information relating to your business at the start of the process, we’ll identify and correct any errors, and build an accurate and up-to-date picture of your business and its current financial position.

Once this important groundwork has been laid, we’ll continually enter all new transactions into your new or existing system, while scoping out which of our services you’ll gain most benefit from going forward. About Gold Coast

The iconic city of the Gold Coast can be found in the Australian state of Queensland, sitting approximately 66 kilometres to the south of Brisbane, the state capital, and just north of the neighbouring state border of New South Wales.

With a reputation for glitz and glamour, it attracts tourists from all over the country and indeed the world, thanks to its sunny climate, distinctive high-rise skyline, fancy resorts, reputation for golden sand surf beaches, world-famous theme parks and close proximity to the impressive rainforest hinterlands, with waterfalls and walking trails.

As of June 2018, the Gold Coast was estimated to boast a population of more than 679,000, making it the sixth-largest city in Australia and the largest non-capital city in the country.

The area is the traditional home of a number of Indigenous clans of the Yugambeh people, which include the Bullongin, Kombumerri and Tulgi-gi-gin clans. European settlers arrived in the early 1820s when explorer John Oxley landed at Mermaid Beach. The red cedar supply of the local hinterlands attracted an increasing number of settlers to the area and, as the nearby town of Southport developed a reputation as the perfect holiday destination, the area continued to grow. Consequent, over-inflated real estate prices resulted in the nickname of the ‘Gold Coast’ from around 1950, with this soon becoming a popular ‘catch-all’ way to refer to the holiday strip that stretched from Southport to Coolangatta.

Today the city boasts a large television and film production industry, providing the backdrop for popular TV shows and blockbuster movies made by producers from all over the world. It also famously played host to the 2018 Commonwealth Games, cementing its reputation as a destination for major sporting events.
